Just been out doing some jobs. I was up the Ben again today – You used to call it ‘Daddy’s Office’ and it always made me laugh, it still does. It was really windy again last weekend and there are even more trees that have fallen down. I cycled all the way to the top and it was covered in cloud but the sun was shining on Loch Fleet below………
You can see that it made a really eerie effect, there was more light coming from beneath me than there was from the sky.
I was reading back on this blog and noticed that there aren’t many pics of me so here you go………….
……….I have to say – I’m not so comfortable taking photos of myself but this blog is for you and I don’t wantyou forgetting what I look like!
Love you xxx
Hi squirt. It was my birthday yesterday and it was all pretty uneventful, that was ok by me though. By far the best bit of the day was having you sing ‘Happy Birthday’ to me on the phone. It was the perfect way to start the day! I took some photos during the day and did my usual jobs but that was about it. I had dinner at Grandma and Grandpas which was nice and at the end of the day I was really tired so went to bed early.
Thank you very much for the new boxer shorts – they are my first pair of merino wool boxers and they are super soft and comfortable.
I’m out and about for the rest of the week so I’ll let you know what I’ve been up to later.
Love you xxx.
Hi Squirt. Its Sunday night and I thought I’d let you know what I’ve been up to over the weekend. Its not a great deal really. Friday was Australia Day. It marks the day that the First Fleet (the first people who arrived to settle in Australia) arrived in the year 1788. They must have been very brave people. In Australia it is a day of great celebration. I got up early to watch the cricket – Australia beat England (again!) so I should be pleased and I am but I would have liked to see some decent competition. Still, if Australia is give anyone a good hiding there is no one better than the poms. I went out for dinner that night with some other people from Australia and it was nice.
I was back to Skibo on Saturday and I had a big audience but things went smoothly Then I went for a bike ride in Golspie and met up with some friends. Its been very windy again and more trees have fallen over so that has kept me busy. After that I had to go to Inverness to pick up some hawk food and while I was there I wanted to go to the climbing wall but I was really disappointed to find it closed – someone had fallen and there was an ambulance there. I was really looking forward to climbing but I also took my camera and wanted some photos for you.
Today I haven’t done much – done some household jobs, some exercise, Gregor came around but I’ve been pretty lazy.
This is one of the photos I did take this weekend. Its Stan Still – remember the boxing man in the side shed? Anyway, its not a pretty picture, but a good picture doesn’t necessarily have to be. At the moment though I’ve been using him a lot and in some weird way I can somehow relate to this photo at the moment. I just hope it doesn’t scare you!
Speaking of photos, I have been really enjoying the camera phone pics mum has been sending – everyone of them has made me smile. I was so pleased to see that you got to see your camel and I hope he didn’t spit at you! I can’t wait to hear all about your holiday. I know your so young but I know you will be learning lots.
Pia MacLeod………..I DO LOVE YOU!
Well you are in Abu Dabhi now, and the thought of you in in such a far and foreign land is a bit weird for me. It makes you seem small somehow. The airport sounded really busy and Mummy sounded a bit stressed – I hope you were looking after her, and I hope you get to see your camel!
I had a quiet day. I wanted to do more than I actually did but today is the last real day of my holidays…..it seems to have gone so quickly. I went for a run down at the beach and it was beautiful. The tide was half in/half out and the sand was really soft, there was snow on the hills and sun on the sand and the sky was a pinky peachy colour. It was so good that I couldn’t figure out why I hadn’t gone earlier, and I was thinking of you the whole way. The beach reminds me of you a lot.
Give Mummy a cuddle. Love you xxx
Well its been over a week since you went down to nanas and papas. As much as I’ve tried to keep myself busy I have been missing you more than you could ever know.
Last weekend I went to Aviemore to play in the snow. I had a really good weekend and learnt lots but I couldn’t take any pics…..sorry. The whole time I was there I was thinking that I was just about the only person I know that would have found it such fun. Anyway on sunday night I had a long drive home and I was soooo tired – it seemed to take forever! I had a goo sleep in on monday morning though.
This week there has been loads of snow in Brora and Golspie too. I’ve had lots of your to do on the trails and yesterday I went for a bike ride up Ben Bhraggie. There was so much snow I couldn’t ride my bike, I couldn’t even push it! For a lot of the way up the hill I had to carry my bike.
The snow was so deep in places it was up to my thighs. I was leaving the only tracks in the snow that I could see apart from other animals. I saw prints from deer, grouse pheasants, fox and even a badger! I felt like I was the only person in the world. At the top the views were great but only short because the cloud kept coming in and swirling around and when it did that you couldn’t see anything. Coming down was good fun – if I kept going fast enough the tires would float on top of the snow and it was a bit like surfing but when I had to brake the wheels would dig deep into the snow and I fell off quite a bit! I really like riding my bike in the snow and ice – it was really tiring but a great day.
Snow and Ice
Anyway Squirt, you are on an adventure of you own today – off to Abu Dhabi. Am a bit worried that I won’t get your bath time phone calls but I know you will be having a great time. Give Mummy a kiss and a cuddle for me. I love you Little Girl. xxx
Hi Squirt – only less than a week to go now until you go with Mummy to nanas and papas so we have been pretty busy but the highlight of my weekend was the two of us going for a walk yesterday. It was a beautiful sunny winters morning and at every junction I let you choose which way to go – we could have ended up anywhere! We saw Minstral the horse and then Hamish the cat followed us for a while too. At the top of the street there were dozens of birds cheep cheeping away. We stood there for a while watching them. Then we had to walk down the icy icy road. You slipped, I slipped so daddy had to teach you to walk on the grassy bits and on the rough bits on the road. Once you worked it out you were pretty please with yourself…..and I was so proud of you.
Going to miss you so much little girl.
Pia on a Winter Walk.
Hey squirt – Mummy went out for dinner tonight leaving us 2 to get up to some mischief! At least thats what I was wanting to do but after dinner (chicken, brocoli and rice) and a bit of bouncing on the trampoline you were really tired and I had some trouble keeping you awake! Hope fully you will have a good nights sleep and we can cause some havoc tomorrow.
